I HAVE A WINCHESTER MODEL 70 270 WSM IN CAMO DURACOAT STAINLESS BARRELL. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THIS MY MACKDADDY, WHAT SCOPE WOULD YOU THINK (THAT COMES SILVER) WOULD BE BEST. I WOULD LIKE A TOP RANGE OF 14 BUT COULD LIVE WITH A 3-9 DO NOT WANT TO SPEND MORE THAN $225, THERE IS A PLACE ON THE WEB THAT HAS REDFIELD 3-9-42 ILLUMINATOR WIDE FIELDS FOR $179. WHAT KIND OF DEAL DO YOU THINK THAT IS AND IS THERE BETTER DEALS OUT THERE

Welcome to The OT!!

Ok, I'm getting kinda old and I've been admittedly out of the loop for more years than I care to admit. (I remember when Steve Winwood was still with Traffic.)

But, what exactly is YOUR definintion of "Mack Daddy"??

The reason I ask is, I don't believe your going to get there, (Mack Daddy Land), on a $225 budget, my friend. At least not MY version...

The above link is for a Nikon Buckmaster. Good, solid scope for around $200. And it's silver.

This is the 4.5-14 version, but blows the Mack Daddy's budget all to hell....

Whatcha think??

I UNDERSTAND MY BUDGET DOESNT WARRANT A TRUE 'REAL SCOPE' HOWEVER I REFUSE TO SPEND MORE THAN, AT TOPS 250 BUCKS, BECAUSE I WOULD RATHER PICK UP ANOTHER RIFLE FOR THE 500 ILL SAVE. ANY IDEA ON THE REDFIELD ILLUMINATOR OR SHOULD I GO WITH A BUCKMASTER. JUST TO THROUGH A CURVE MY FATHER IN LAW HAS A BUCKMASTER 4.5-14-40 SILVER FOR 200 BUCKS AND IT IS LIKE BRAND NEW

I haven't looked through the Redfield in question, but I have used and abused a Nikon Buckmaster and heartily recommend it.

Bro,

You said Mack Daddy...  The Bushnell 4200 3x9 with shippping would be ~270.  It is a favorite for the money.  Extra sharp and clear for the low budget... See if you can get a cash advance on your Christmas presents
