About to order my Viper HS 2.5-10x44mm, I need to know what height rings I need to have it fit my browning BAR, no sights on it. I am looking at the standard Leopold rings and rail, mostly because i like the look of the rings best. Any idea what height I need? low, med, tall? thanks.

Normally SWFA will have a sizing chart on hand and can get you the correct size to fit.  I'd give them a call and order, 1-972-SCOPE-IT

These would be my suggestion, thinking lows will work
Talley Lightweight Aluminum 30mm Scopemount Talley Lightweight Aluminum 30mm Scopemount
Stock # - 730711
  • Benelli R1
  • Browning BAR
  • Browning BLR
  • Browning BPR
  • Winchester Super X Rifle
  • Low
  • Medium
$41.95
not sure why this list both heights.

I started using these on all my hunting rigs for the strength, quality, price, and weight.

Only downside I've ever eperienced with them is you have to remove the scope to remove the bottom half, not a big deal unless you like to play musical scopes allot

I plan on mounting the scope and never taking it off, it will stay with the gun for the life of it, which will be a very long time based on my step dads BAR, he's had his for around 15 years never one problem

did you get the low or medium talley's in that picture? and what is your obj size? 40mm? just trying to eyeball for my gun and the 44mm obj scope, talley's site says the med height can handle up to 50mm obj, but the low only 40.

I think you'd be safe with mediums if you want to use flip ups, it be tight with lows.  You could order both heights and just sit the scope in the rings (don't mount) and send back the set you don't use.  You're only out shipping cost then.  Confirm with SWFA before doing that though, again they probably know exactly what you can get by with as they have mounted more scopes than a lot of us combined.
