so i have this new .375H&H, i put my 3x9 primos on it, because its what i have. the more i think about it the more im tempted to put my 3x9 4200 on the .375 and put the primos on my .264win, the bdc would make a lot more sense on the .264, and the 4200 is recoil tested to 10,000 rounds of .375H&H, so i cant really see any reason to chance that the primos may break right??

Makes sense to swap because of the BDC. Still I figure the Primos would probably handle the rcoil.

i emailed nikon to ask them if they thought their scope would withstand the recoil of the .375 they replied to me simply, yes it will.  im not to worried about it either, but mr. barsness made the comment that he has had some issues with nikons on heavier recoiling rifles and that comment is eating at me a little, i dont really want to have to use nikons cs if i can help it.

I'd swap due to the BDC anyways.

I'd swap them too.  If I had to guess which one would be more durable I'd say the 4200.  What kind of rifle did you get?

m70 win that a gunsmith built for fun, shot it twice to confirm his work and then put it up for sale. some day i wanna put a scope on it that it should have like a new vx3 in a 1.75x6 or something like that.

I think I've read that both the 3200 and 4200 are tested  1000 shots of the .375. One thing to consider is the 3200 has more eye relief than the 4200. If your looking for an excuse to buy another scope, this one sounds as good as any..LOL

actually the 3200 is tested to 1000 rounds of .375 the 4200 is tested to 10,000 simulated rounds of .375H&H.

im not buying anything, right now, i may at the end of the year.

Hey pyro, just so you know, the difference in eye relief on my VXIII 1.75-6x32 from low to high is quite noticeable. Maybe the new VX3 is better.

If nothing else,at least Leupold got the e/r specs right if they were left the same as mine. My VXIII is listed at 4.8-3.7. Definitely ain't no 3.7 at 6x.  My SII 1.5-6x42 is better on e/r.

So you haven't shot your .375 yet? I finally got the ok from my doctor to shoot my heavier recoiling rifles so I may shoot my 9.3 this weekend.

its a composite stock, so im not worried about it, are they safe for wood, as far as i know as long as you dont throw 100lbs of lead shot on the sled it is, where people are getting into trouble with those things is that the rifle has to be able to transfer energy somewhere, instead of it coming to a dead sudden stop. which is why im thinking 25-50lbs of shot or sand should work just fine, the bare lead sled is suppose to reduce recoil by like 20%, so i really dont see the need to load it up. this is the same story with people busting scopes with the lead sled.

I think that I would put the 4200 on the .375 H&H. I also think that long term I would be wanting something like a 1.5-6x42 or similar like these - not sure which one as I would have to closely compare eye relief:
