From Trijicon's web site FAQ

http://www.trijicon.com/faq.cfm

We get asked all the time what barrel length or bullet weight Trijicon ACOG's are calibrated for, so I figured I would make a post for anyone that might be wandering.

What bullet was used to calibrate the ACOG scopes?
The TA01, TA11, & TA31 (.223) were designed for the 5.56mm, 20 inch barrel, 55 grain bullet, and M16/AR15 carry handle mount. The TA01B & TA11C(.308) were designed for the 7.62mm, 20 inch barrel, 168 grain bullet, and M16/AR15 carry handle mount. The TA01NSN was designed specifically for the US Special Operations Command SOPMOD M4 Carbine. To meet their requirements, the reticle bullet drop compensator and range finding stadia lines were based on the trajectory of the 62 grain bullet from a 14.5 inch barrel, flattop mount (Picatinny rail Mil.Std.1913).

Does bullet weight and/or barrel length effect the reticle bullet drop compensator and range finding stadia lines?
The real issue is not the bullet weight or barrel length, but muzzle velocity, ballistic coefficient, and the distance from height above bore. The difference in trajectory from bullet to bullet or barrel to barrel is usually less then the MOA thickness of the stadia lines.

That is good poop for guys like me who like to shoot the Hornady 75 grainers.  So you are saying it is insignificant for real world applications....like al Qaeda targets.

If you do ballistics tables for various 5.56/.223 loads you note that out to about 250-300 meters there is not much diff in POI.

You can't link directly to a post at ar15.com. And guess what, there's no way to search either. I don't understand that site Loco

I have an Acog replica which has a very similar reticle, and it was right on the hash marks out to 300 yds with my 16" barrel and handloaded 55gr FMJ.  Hash marks are great, but if you don't compensate for the wind.....

I am looking to out fit my 6.8 spc with a 16" barrel. Are there any suggestions for any particular ACOG.

The new 4x32 with the 6.8 reticle would be perfect.

Stupid, "It doesn't need to be said" post:  be sure you fire YOUR rifle with YOUR bullets at a known distance range prior to "assuming" a scope marked 400 yards is an actual 400 yards with your setup.

I've been on the range more than once with a guy shooting something "calibrated" but not on paper.  They are usually confused as hell with something like, "It was on at 100, why would it be off at 200 or 300?"

The only "calibrated" and dead-nuts solution is your actual, real-world data, with your rounds, from your gun, in your specific shooting environment.  Everything else is generic - which might be dead-on and might not.
