I also run a Yam Griz 700 with Maxis Bighorns. Love the power assist steering...good for an old fart like me.

polaris 500 2004 and polaris 425 magnum 1994--rifle dude said it best.  we've ridden them hard and the maintenance bills have been few and far between.  Lots of mud and water and load hauling with trailers and on the machine have gone well!

Had an Arctic Cat 500 4X4 manual. It was plenty fast, and handled all the camp grunt work, including hauling in the smaller camper trailers. I had the Gator 28 Mudders on it, and a light set from Hell. The body was camoed, and the racks were upgraded. I installed fender flares, an oversize air box, and snorkel for getting across the creek when it was raining. Insurance paid me 10,000 when it was stolen.
I will get another Arctic Cat when I get the rest of my life back in order again. Looking at the big bore V Twins now.

It is crazy how much power and how big of engines they are putting on ATVs now.  I remember my old Honda 300 would take me anywhere I needed to go.  Riding my 700 grizzy I could never see the need for more power.  But it would be sweet to have one of those big ole V twin engines.  Big Grin

I would like to see one with the 1800cc engine off of my Honda VTX.  Now that would be sweet, 110 hp.

I got the first year of the Suzuki King Quad with the 300 engine (285cc). It served me well for what I used it for, hunting, trails, hill climbing, etc.. When I rode some trails with some Polaris owners and a dealer, I kept up with them until they got out on some country roads, and that was because I had to stop to shift to high range. The Polaris guys wouldn't ride my trails on hillsides because their center of gravity was higher than mine (at least in their minds). I never thought I needed a bigger ATV until I started pulling a mower. Now I could use a new King Quad.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

The first generation Bronco's were "real wheelers", it's a shame you have to sell yours ST.

I had a '79 (second generation), they were pretty good wheelers too but not in the same league. I had mine for 20+ years and is still my favorite of all vehicles I've owned.

My opinion is stay away from polaris. I personally think they are junk compared to well any susuki kawasaki, honda or yamaha. Yeah they may be fast but they dont last. I use to work in the industry. Worked at a motorcycle atv dealer for 5 years. The most impressive quad I have seen in terms of power is the Brute Force 700 twin from Kaw. Roll on wheelie. Well except that a quad has 4 wheels so its a 2wheelie i guess.

Arctic cats have good motors anyway as most of them use suzuki motors. I cant say much about the chassis as I dont know much about them.
