Many years ago, I bought a Simmons Model 1021 rifle scope. My original intention was to get a some sort of mount that would allow me to put it on an M1, but that turned out to be a bad idea - so I have no rings at all.  The scope sat on my shelf in the box for a lot of years.

Yesterday I fell in love with a Sig 522.  Probably a bad idea, but it was not at a horrible price. I noted AFTER I made the deal that it did not have iron sights - but I thought - here is a great use for that old scope. Eventually I'll have to admit that because it is cool that it can be fired with the butt folded, and I'll have to get it a red dot - but cashwise I need to cross that chasm in two leaps - which means that I have to put this scope on it for now.

Anyway, the rifle doc says that it has a "integral Picatinny Rail", so I'd like to get the right rings that will mate the scope I have to the rail the rifle has.

The scope is described as a "Simmons Rifle Scope" Model 1021. 3-9x40 Wide Angle. I believe that I've owned it long enough that it did not have barcodes on the box.

I am not sure what the size of the tube is.  On the left side of the tube there is a small gold seal that says Simmons and under that in white it says 3X-9X 40WA  I'm gonna guess that it uses 1 inch tubes, and I have no idea what the 40 WA means, maybe 40mm wide angle.

The final question is, how much do I need to raise the tube to allow this to fit?  Should I get something like the 49176 that would raise the tube away from the rail?  Is there some other way that this should be handled?

The matte black is probably the right look, even though the scope is gloss...

what rings should I use to mount this scope on that rifle?

The burris PEPR that just arrived in stock at SWFA would be best.  made for mounting on an AR type platform.  I to would say its a 1" tube, don't think simmons made 30mm tubes....but could be wrong.
