It Snowed in Hoover too, and there wasn't even a run on milk and bread.  James Span must be on Vacation.

Beautiful pics KB, you're a lucky guy.  I'll remember to ask again in February how it is up there when I'm down here shooting in short sleeves though!  Big Grin

2 degrees this morning with 6 inches of fresh snow. Wind chill is -23. I stopped to pull the neighbors Ford out of his driveway, and helped the pretty blond girl down the street get her car out, and that's it. Staying inside today.Big Smile

It was -18 on my way to work this morning.  My truck never got off low on my temp gauge.

Flagstaff had a blizzard warning for Monday, they ended up with 22" of snow in 24 hours. Sure glad I don't work up there anymore! I despise the white stuff.

Jealous. Sounds like the kind of snow storm I like. The ones that shut the town down for three days, and everyone is stuck at home. Except the one guy in his big white Chevy out driving around. You have to watch out for the cars stuck in the middle of the road though.

I really don't mind a couple of those every winter. What I hate is when it snows a couple inches almost every night for 3 months, so you're always shoveling and fighting it, driving in it, dragging it into the house, etc.

This was really our first significant snowfall this year, and if it would turn out to be the last, you wouldn't hear me crying about it.

Send it to Alabama.  All I hear from people at work is "gee, I sure wish we would get a REAL snow, you know for days and days".  I say, "no, you don't".  "Oh yes we do...".  Give 'em what they want...

Help yourself to all you want!

We'll have to charge a 'nominal' fee for the shipping, of course...

I am pretty lucky! We live close enough the real high mountains to go play in it! But hardly ever have to shovel it! The best part of AZ is you don't have to shovel sunshine!

KB as much as I love my place, yours looks beautiful. How far away from town are you?

If they only knew what they were asking for, they would keep quiet.  Always interesting when someone from down south gets caught up here for the first nasty weather.   They have the classic "What is happening and what will we do" look in their eyes.  Humorous to a point because they have no clue on what to do.  We advise them to stay inside and don't go anywhere less you freeze to death.

Might want to cover that grille with something. I have plastic inserts that cover the grille of my truck in the winter. They still have small holes in them, but block a lot of airflow. I've found they help my truck warm up this time of year.

When I was a hunting guide in Montana, we had a group of three hunters in from Southern California.
I'll never forget how freaked out they were when we had a storm drop a foot of snow overnight.  Heck, we were hunting out of a snug cabin, had tons of firewood cut and stacked, two weeks worth of food, plenty of good horses, etc.
Didn't matter. Those guys were scared, and pretty well convinced one another that they were all going to die off like the Donner party.

That's the opposite of us I guess. When in the Black Hills you can get 40" of snow dumped on you over night. Search, and rescue comes to get you on a snowmobile. If you tell them you'd like to stay, they threaten to arrest you, and take you down anyway.Soap Box We had weeks worth of firewood, and easily weeks worth of food, and lot's of deer tags to fill yet. Not to mention the Land Cruiser that could have probably gotten us out if we wanted to.

The "town" of Grant is only .5miles, but it is small.  I am outside the city limits.  Nearest town of any size is 21 miles...
