I have owned S&B Scopes and find them to be awesome.

I now am considering a Sako (300 win) TRG Build and would like save a little on optics without sacrifice.

What does anyone know about the Night Force Scopes? Particularly their 3-15 Model...

Is a Night Force Scope really a Leopold?

Should I forget this thought and go back to a S&B. I am basically after a fairly light weight scope with a target knob arrangement with parallax adj. and worthy glass. (On a side note:) Why is it the Zeiss 30mm tube scopes in this arrangement have huge 56mm bells?

Anyway thanks in advance...

Great rifle!!

All NF scopes I have seen are simply outstanding! I especially like the 50mm objectives.

No....

I like both the Zeiss and the S&B. The Zeiss may be a little lighter.

Are you sure about all those 30mm tubes being 56mm objectives??

Anyway thanks in advance... Welcome to OT!!!

If you know you like S&B stay with what you really like and are comfortable with. That said the quality differences between the S&B the Zeiss the Nightforce and Leupold are not going to be huge these are all top quality and far better quality than most people really need. How you feel about the scope is personal preference. I strongly prefer a 50 mm to the more bulky 56mm and one of my tactical rifles is a savage 10LE with a Leupold Mark 4 10X40mm M3 scope. The M3 knobs are much shorter than the M1 style knobs and as such dont hang up on brush etc. The M3 comes with a cam system for .300 win Mag out to 1300yds what you see is what you get plus windage. 1click is 1MOA on elevation and windage is 1/2 MOA clicks ( this is a gunfight scope -very fast) Same as U S Army M24 Sniper rifle. On the other hand this scope will drive a target shooter mad if they are used to 1/4 MOA clicks like the M1 style Leupold knobs.  Semi-Fortunately for those who buy it and dont like it for about $200 Leupold will switch it to M1 style knobs ($1300+ for the scope)

All this makes me wonder if the first shipment of Burris tactical scopes with their lifetime waranty have come in since I recently attempted to order one without success.

Buy the one you really want - better to spend the money and get it than settle for something you do not feel is up to speed, but do evaluate what you will be using it for.  As for me  - I need one of each!!!!

Latest Zeiss is a 72mm - just my opinion but not even an S&B Precision Hunter stands up against an S&B PM2. A Zeiss certainly does not (unless the 2005 range have changed a whole lot). The last couple of ZEISS I've seen have a very WHITE image.
