So here's the deal, I've had a bushnell elite 3200 on my 5r for a couple years now ( yes I know it's a shame to have a cheap scope on it but life keeps getting in the way of a USO like I have on another rig). While it is a cheaper scope , I've had great luck with it from 100 out to 700 yds... Until now. With a 200 yard zero for 2 years it's been very consistent, 9.75 Moa for 500, 14.25 for 600 and 18 for 700 using my hand loads running between 2780 and 2800 fps. That was as recently as last month at a rifle silhouette comp, dialed 9.75 and hit the sheep no problem. Yesterday however I couldn't hit anything at only 450 and frustrated because I couldn't figure out the problem I headed home. So today I took my 6 yr old who has an incredible eye through a spotting scope and we hit the desert. I started at about 479 yards, dialed 9.5 and released a round. Wayyy low my son said, which made no sense to me so I let 2 more fly all with the same call from my "spotter" so I dialed 2 Moa up and got closer, then a little more and so on. Long story short it took 15 Moa to hit it, then at 600 it was like 22 Moa! Once it was on target it was fine, but that's way more adjustment than before and I don't know why. FYI all shots were chronied and were the right speed, windage was dead on, it was only 5 degrees cooler than when I zeroed the rifle. Also the scope, rings and mount are rock solid with no movement. Anyway sorry for being so long winded, just want to know what could cause such a thing and if it's time to toss the scope. Thanks in advance for your help!

What magnification is your scope? What power are you shooting at?

Has your base or rings come loose ? Maybe the rings shifted a bit on the base?

When you went back to your 200yd zero before your problem could you have gone past another full revolution?

Sparky you may have just knocked it out of the park. I'll check tomorrow to be sure but that seems like a very likely answer! If that's the case I'm a total moron haha. Live and learn I guess...

You're not a moron. It is very easy to go past especially when you are dialing in a lot of correction. And I too hope this takes care of it.

Also some people I know use a rubber O ring to help them from going past their zero.
