Does anybody have this scope or have experience with it?

Is it durable, glass clear and bright, etc.?

Thanks,
Smitty

It is a very nice little scope, especially for the money.  I have not abused it a whole lot, but people put these on 45-70 Marlins, so i expect it to be pretty durable.  optics are clear and bright and eye relief is longer than the specs would indicate.  Actually, there two set of specs for this scope floating around with one claiming a 3.3" eye relief and the other 4" eye relief.  I think it is pretty close to 4".

Also, the 1x is a true 1x which can come in handy.

I'm exactly in the same boat with you. I'm seriously considering one of these for my AR-15. In my seaches here and eslewhere, a lot of people swear by them. Most of the posts are from people who claim they mounted this scope to some type of hard recoiling big-bore. So the durability is praised.

They say it is bright and clear, but you must remember it is a $150 optic. I'd like to read a comparison to other brands as far as clarity goes. Better/worse than a FFII, better/worse than a Buckmaster? It is a 20mm, so there's only so bright it can be.

The very attractive aspect of it is the true 1x. It isn't 1.1x or anything like that. So you can really use it with both eyes open when shooting fast at shorter range targets. Much like a reddot in a way. 3x gives you the ability to reach out a little bit more, without having a your FOV chopped down much, or without exceeding the limitations of the rifle you're shooting.

It is apparently very popular among 3-gunners. It just might be the cheapest, yet decent quality low power variable out there. In fact, it might be the only one in its price class with a true 1x.

This is what I've read here on SWFA using the search.

I like low range variables and I've compared quite a few of them over the last couple of years.  As for the brightness, objective lens is not everything.  Apparent brightness (there is no such thing as scope brightness since it only passes incoming light along, apparent brightness is a better term) is a function of exit pupil (objective lens divided by magnification) and glass quality, for the most part.

Optically, Weaver V3 was just a touch behind FFII, but very close.  Either way at low magnifications the difference is very minor.  Buckmaster does not have a comparable scope, but Monarch 1.5-4.5x20 was on par with V3.  Yes, I know, for every other scope model Monarch is a better scope than Fullfield II, but several 1.5-4.5x20 Monarchs that I've seen were not up to the standards of the rest of the Monarch line.  I have no clue why.  I hope the new one will be better.

I am pretty comfortable shooting with both eyes open with 2.5x or below, so I am not especially sensitive to the true 1x argument, but I know others prefer it.
