I just picked up a weaver v4.5 scope at a garage sale today. It's a variable 1.5 to 4.5.
I need a new scope for my shotgun (slugs)
Whats the quality, value of this scope? Where can I get lens caps for it?
thanks.

You can get Butler Creek lens caps for it at SWFA not sure if they will have the specs buy you can call and ask.   The quality of the scope is -  plenty good enough to use. The value  is probably a tad less than this used weaver say half to two thirds the price if its in good condition (best guess).

If your scope is in nice condition then as mentioned it is very serviceable. I am assuming it is an old Elpaso steel tube scope. While the coatings are not the latest technology i.e. they aren't the brightest scope in the woods, those old scopes are tuff and like a timex they just keep on ticking.
