hey now.

i just want to say for anyone looking for a value weaver classic is my new sleeper scope.

i have a marlin 336 from 1959 which sports my 3-9 x40 vx2 right now. im moving the vx2 onto my predator build ar-15 and am scopeless on the marlin lever. im really liking the idea of the weaver classic 4x28 or hell even the 1-3x20 on the marlin lever. most deer in ny are killed with in a 100yards in the thick woods and in my humble thinking, a 40mm scope when walking around and inbetween trees is not so fun. im not really a deer hunter to begin with, i just think it would be a nice addition to the lever over the vx2.

im an iron sights fan to begin with on levers. and the 1-3 seems like the closest thing to iron sights. if your gonna ask me why i dont just use iron sights, its because im so used to scopes now on rifles that even though im more than able with iron sights, i feel like somethings missing...its hard to explain...

anyway thanks again for your input ahead of time...

While I don't have a Weaver, I have a 1.25-5x Sightron on my .357 lever gun and really like it.  I have a 4x Leupold on my 45-70 gun and don't like it near as much.  4x just seems like to much hunting in the thick stuff.  I plan on trading the Leupold for another 1ish to 4ish scope in the future.  I think you are on the right track.  The small 1ish to 4ish scopes look great on lever guns IMO.
