I ordered one of the 1.5-4.5x Weaver Classic Extreme scopes. I was so impressed that I ordered 2 more, one each of the 2.5-10x in 50mm and 56mm objectives.

I have not had a chance to mount them yet (waiting on my Larue order).  Optically they are superb, and I really like the easily resettable, finger adjustable, windage and elevation knobs.

Plus they are 30mm scopes, my preference.

I have the scope and bought it for the closeout price. There is nothing wrong with it and I would not say it is too good to be true. It is a great scope with great glass and very heavy duty. I am shooting tight groups at 100 yards and still hitting the target fairly well at 200 yards. I really like the finish on the scope. It is hard to scratch and very smooth. It has a few weaknesses including it being rather heavy, the illuminated dot not being perfectly centered and the adjustments do not appear to be exact and therefore it did take a lot of ammo to get it zeroed well. Also the variable dial is very tight and hard to move so you definitely want it set where you want it before a white tail shows up. I have read complaints about the red dot not being perfectly centered and I cannot understand what the big deal is with that unless they are shooting competitively at night time. The red dot is not on the scope for target shooting but rather for hunting when it is very low light. I can live with the red dot being a hair off perfect center. If it puts me off a hair when shooting at game and I miss or shoot a bad shot it won't be the scopes fault. If the actual crosshair center is 1/64 of an inch away from the red dot and you hold the rifle steady how far off could your shot actually be? Overall good scope and for the closeout price it is unbeatable.

I have the 56mm. It's a very impressive scope. Very good glass. But I like to keep one thing in mind. While it's great and has a lot of "wow" factor...would that be the case if the regular $460ish price was paid? I doubt it. Still, in the $460-$550 range it's competitive probably better than most in that range, but not something to get excited about. Which is why they're being blown out probably at 1/2 the price. Around $500, I can compare it to a Conquest 3-9, and the Conquest is optically superior. Although, the Weaver has some features such as illumination and the turrets, oh yeah and a side focus. But I don't really value the side focus that much on a 2.5-10x.

Under $300, there's simply nothing out there that can touch it. But that's true of anything if the seller were going at wholesale or less than wholesale. The web would be raving over the Nikon Prostaff too if someone were selling them for $45.
