Does anyone know what kind of primers Weatherby uses for their factory ammo? More specifically the .300 Wby. I've tried Winchester magnum primers, and Fed 215's, and neither seem to be as clean as the Wby factory. It still amazes me how clean the primer pockets are when knocking out the factory primers.

The Norma reloading manual lists Winchester Magnum (WLRM)....and as far as I know Norma makes all of the Weatherby ammunition, so it should be the same as a factory load.

Don't know much about reloading, but the dirty pocket might be because of the powder you are using not burning the same as the factory ammo.  What powder are you using?  You might try Norma MRP powder or MRP-2 and see if the pockets are still dirty.  Don't want to mess with your load data, but if you want close to a factory load then you should use Norma powder as I am fairly sure that is what they use and all they list in the manual for powder.
I have the Norma Manual and if you need some info, feel free to PM me and I will photocopy what I can and get you info.  Like I said don't know much, but makes sense to me hope it helps.
