cancelled due to poor performance (sales , value, etc)?  How would they compare with the Zeiss Conquest line?

A friend has one new in the box and now wants the Swaro american.....Any thoughts as to where on the scope food chain they sit......thanks in advance

my 2 cents:

the kahles american line falls right in line w/ the conquest and swaro american > probably a little better.

they've got 1 inch tubes but as far as i know, the key componants are still top quality kahles stuff.

the kahles is a fine scope for the money - i would rather have one of those than a conquest. or the swaro amer. for that matter.

is he selling it? what size?

J

Kahles AH is better in every way than Conquest IMO. Also keep a eye out for the new Kahles KX, they will have AMV coated lenses, see Kahles KX in the search engine.Good luck and keep us posted.

He has the 3x9x42...he is still deciding on the price....I think he spent $580 on it and he will probably want 500 for it.....it has never been mounted.......We'll see ....I love my two conquest...and If this one is far better than them...I may be buying a new to me scope.....I have not looked thru it yet....next week I'll get a chance....thanks for the feed-back....

The AH is not far better, the KX will be. For that price I would wait.

I have a Kahles AH, Zeiss Conquest, and Swaro AV.  Given the same magnification of each, I would personally rank those scopes in the following order from best to still darn good, optically speaking:

1.  Swaro AV

2.  Kahles AH

3.  Zeiss Conquest

The new Kahles CL series is reportedly a little better than the Swaro AV, and I've only seen the new Kahles KX inside a showroom once this past weekend, so I don't know how it compares to the others, though it looked comparable to the CL to me inside the building.

One of the things I liked about the Kahles AH series is it offered a superb little rimfire model scope -- the 2-7X36.  I've never seen a rimfire scope I liked better than that one.  I hope Kahles will decide to offer a rimfire specific (50 yd parallax adjusted) scope in the new KX line as well.
