I reload for a 338RUM
If your gun is factory then my data may be a little different. My gun has a 36" Brux barrel and a shorter throat than factory guns. It is a rebarrel of a 338 win mag and I had the gunsmith set the lands where I could fit the mag and still load somewhat close to the lands.
Because of that I have a smaller combustion chamber volume and can not load up to max per the manual. My Nosler manual listed a max of 98 grains with a 225 gr bullet but when I load over 94 grains I lose the primer pockets.
So my load is 94 grs of RL25 with a Fed215M primer and gets 3075 fps which is just fine for me.
With a long throat I suspect you could load higher but I also suspect that the Remington brass is a little soft and you may have the same problem. The Lapua brass is the one major advantage of the 338LM over the 338RUM.
