Hey, If you look back through the post I was the idiot that thought he might want some steiners because Leica and the others cost too much.  Well, thanks to T-bone, Chris, and many other informed individuals I finally ended up with a pair of Leica ultravids 10x50 from the sample list for $1290 with passport warranty and all.  It was a long process though, I found a deal at bearbasin.com for a pair of Leica trinovids BA (not BN's) 10x50 for $899.  I compared them to the Stieners, they won hands down without even a shadow of a doubt, but my freind threw up his Swarovski SLC'c 10x50 and I had to tuck and run...they kicked the BA's.... A.  So I knew for 900 bucks I wasnt going to have them suck that bad, I returned them that day, ordered my ultravids and lived happlily ever after.  Since, I have compared them to the Swarovski SLC's 10x 50 and the EL 10x42's.  In low light, fog, haze, heat, cold, rain, snow, and everything else.  Without a doubt the ultravids beat the slc's and the el's...el's had a smaller objective I realize and were lighter and slc's have that very comfortable thumb groove on the underside not too mention the wider field of view, but with the Leica warranty and clarity, to me there is nothing out there in 10x50 that competes with Leica.

Now, to the real reason of this post.  I mailed my warranty and registration card to Leica back in October, since then I have heard nor recieved anything from them confiming my warranty registration...is this normal or has my card been lost in the mail?  What should I do?

Thanks everyone for your posts and sharing your knowledge.  I have learned so much from this forum.  This is one forum where people are respectful of others and I really appreciate it...it shows the high caliber of people who use this forum, congratulations guys.

Samhill, I own Zeiss binoculars and Zeiss riflescopes and I mailed the warranty register card and also registered them on the Zeiss website and I have never heard anything from Zeiss confirming my registration either. I guess that is the German way of doing business with us. As long as they stand behind their product it does not bother me. Brian
