When I mount the rings on a weaver style rail, it squeezes my Ultradot 30 too tight.  It crushes the tube on the sides.  I only tried this on the extension tube first so I wouldn't wreck the sight.  Thinking it was maybe the mount, I tried it on another weaver mount, but the problem's the same.  I tried it on 4 different weaver mounts, all same.  I sent the rings back to Warne, but they sent me the same thing.  So now I've got these rings and I'm wondering - maybe others are using this style of ring.  There must be a bunch of them out there since Warne replaced mine from a big batch possibly.  Has anyone else noticed this problem?  The problem is immediately evident on mounting.  When you tighten the ring to the mount, the bottom screws, you can't even rotate the sight to level it.  It become immediately crushed on the sides.  So I took off the sight and just mounted one ring and measured.  The I.D. from side to side is 1.140".  The Ultradot is 1.180" approximately.  That's a squeeze of .040".  So what do you think?  Everything OK?  I say heck no, I don't want to wreck my new Ultradot.

You have to tighten Warne rings evenly on the top and bottom.  They are much more difficult to put on than a typically ring.  I don't have 30mm ones, but I do have a set of 2 sets of inch rings and am using one on a  weaver brand base and the other on a AR-15 and they are working fine.

Sounds like to me you are tightening the bottom to much/to soon.  My rings sides do not touch when then are tightened around the scope and tight to the base.

I'll give that a try.  Thanks for the suggestion.
