the Kahles is $120 more.  Is it worth the price difference?  It is going on a Model 7 in a 7mm-08.  All shots less than 150 yards and it is in the east Texas pine forest( it gets a little dark and early).  Thanks, and should I be considering other light weight scopes for this rig? My budget is less than $600.

I prefer the Kahles, but your situation sounds as if the Loopy would perform fine.

I hunt in the East Texas Piney Woods (Panola County) and use a VX III 2.5-8.  It's all you'll ever need.  Mine is on a Kimber 84M in .260 Rem.

Can't go wrong with either one.

Check them both out side-by-side if possible and decide for yourself. I think you would have a hard time seeing a $120.00 difference between these two scopes.

Warranty & customer service mean alot to me when making an optics purchase. I can't speak for Kahles, but Leupold has some of the best customer service/warranty in the business.

Cannot go wrong with either one.  I have a Leupold VX-III 2.5-8x36 and love it.  Went to the store to buy another one for a .22lr and walked out with a Kahles instead.  Didn't like spending the extra money (almost $200 at LL Beans) but the Kahles 2-7x36 was that much better.  I was shocked.  Should've saved some money here on SWFA!
