I'm looking for a scope for a LH Tikka T3L SS in 30-06. I am leaning towards a Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40mm Duplex or a Viper HS 2.5-10x44 BDC. I realize one is 1" and the other is 30mm tube.
The $80 Leupold rebate makes cost a push now. The gun will be my 15 yo son's first rifle. What does everybody think, or do you have a different scope you like in the $400 price range. I like the warranties of both companies, so that is a big factor for me. |

IMO they are both good pcs of glass. However, I would recommend the Leupy for thus application. The Viper visually is a big scope and kind of over powers the Tikka. The Leupy should be just about perfect for the Tikka.
Maybe get the CDS or a M1 turret and you will be more than good to go. Randy |

Funny, I ordered that VX3 w/CDS on Friday and read this on Monday. I wasn't sure what CDS and didn't realize there was a $80 rebate on VX3 either until Friday. The rebate was basically a deal sealer for me for VX3.
Once I saw on youtube what CDS was it became a gotta have. Sometimes your gut brings a guy to the right place. Thanks for the reply, makes me feel better. |
