I am going to purchase a scope that will primarily be used for deer hunting. It will be put on a Weatherby Sage Country 7-08. I currently have a Bushnell Elite 4200 3x9x40 that I am putting on my daughter's handi-rifle. I want a little more magnifications for target shooting (I reload and work on differnt loads to get the best group possible) so I was looking at the vx-3 4.5x14x40, the Monarch 3x12x42, or the Signature Select 3x12x44. The most important thing to me is the brightness and clarity, I would also like to know that the adjustments track consistently, it also needs to be rugged as it will be on a hunting rifle. Thanks in advance for your help.

I think all three are great scopes, though I've not looked throught Sig. select line for some years.  You may also want to consider the Sightron big sky and Zeiss conquest lines.  I do like the 3-12 power range, it is very versitile.

Agreed and both are better than the Burris.
