I just wanted to check and see if anyone else has come across this before...

I bought a Viper PST 6-24 x 50 and a set of Talley low rings some time ago. Last year mayby? The year before?

I never got around to mounting it and outside of taking it out of the box and looking at it, it basically sat in my safe until this past weekend.

So I had recently picked up a Rem 700 long action in .300WM and thought this scope would be great on it.

I took it to the range, mounted the rings and then put the scope in the rings and put the caps on, tightening them down to a light "finger tight".

I bore-sighted it and then look downrange at a target at 100 yards; and I see that the cross-hairs don't look perpendicular. I ask my friend to look through the scope and he confirms it. It's minor, but definitely visible.

I don't know if I'm looking at an optical illusion or if there is something wrong with the scope.

Naturally, I also start immediately wondering if I did something wrong, but I can't think of what. I've NEVER mounted it to anything else and nothing has happened to the scope that I'm aware of.

I thought I'd ask the group if they've ever seen this before...

The older I get, the better I feel about tearing up parking tickets and cheating on my taxes.

Offset reticles happen in scopes, so you may have just got one that has it.  I would just call Vortex and talk to them.  They will make it right quickly.  Their CS is awesome.
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.
