Any word on the release of more PST's? I was told May, then June, now its July and I still have no scope. Kinda eager to see this baby and get out and test it.

dont take this the wrong way scott,( i know its not your fault also) because i love vortex, but if your company doesnt produce pretty soon its going to turn a lot of people off and they will lose a lot of business.

Its sucks because you guys at Vortex put out quality products and have amazing CS that the demand has gotten crazy beyond belief and the pressure is on to get scopes out. I said a few months back with the dates being continually pushed back i feared there were technical problems with the PST's being ironed out and you've seen some of them come up in reviews. When you have a great company there is always added pressure to get things out now, now, now. Not always fair to the makers.

Guys, I think it is much better to wait for a while than for them to send out a bunch of scopes that may not be just right. If they loose a few sales, oh well. It is better than having to recall a whole line if there was infact a problem. Which for all we know it has only been a few problems on a few scopes. But instead of risking it, they decided to make sure all is right.
That is what IOR did with the first version of the Snipershide edition. People are still bitching about that one even though those problems are way in the past and the issues have been fixed with the new generations of the scope. But still becaues they way they handled it it has created a bad spot for a lot of people with IOR. In the future people will be commending Vortex for doing what they are doing now. |

very true, i wish nothing but the best of luck to a fine company like vortex. at the same time you dont want to rush and turn out a piece of crap that everybody returns either, so maybe they are doing the right thing for the long term? |

Both of you guys are spot on. My guess is there have been some returns or complaints on initial batches and they're taking their time (like any great company) to fix problems. It is absolutely better to fix problems now and delay output than to have hundreds rolling back into the factory over the next year.

I agree with most of what is poster here. I would have had one if they were out as hoped.
Initially it did upset me a bit and sent me another way for a good optic for the last build. In the end they have to do what they have to do to put out a quality product. Maybe the buzz was a bit over blown for the latest and greatest but Supertool's thoughts are also correct. My .02 |

Stick to your guns Vortex. Make sure it's right, and the naysayers will end up with one eventually. Maybe not when they wanted it, but no one in their right mind can bitch about quality control. People are by nature impatient these days. I would much rather see a company take it's time, and maintain a great reputation for quality at a good price, that to rush to fill orders, and suffer later.

Thanks Cyborg. That's pretty much our plan right now. We're going to do everything in our power to make sure nothing else leaves our door unless it's done right.
I know people don't like to wait, but I believe that patience will be rewarded. And of course anyone who's already gotten a PST, if anything is wrong with is whatsoever, we will take care of it. -Sam |

Hang in there guys ... and don't make the mistake I did. I cancelled my PST order and ordered another scope with similar features 3 weeks ago. I am still waiting for the new scope. UGH! I just can't win!

No thanks needed here Sam. You guys deserve a lot of credit for being honest with folks. That should buy a fair amount of leeway. Keep up the good work, and everything else will be fine. Many of us here, have seen the amount of time it takes to make sure a new design is as promised. Chris and company can surely respect the pains, as can those of us that watched anxiously awaiting the new SS scopes. Do the right thing, and good things happen.

Vortex might lose a couple of impatient customers but better to lose them than the kind of customers that are willing to wait for the kinks to be worked out. It would be awful to have a lot of returns to deal with.

The thing that really kills me about this is the kinks are really not that big of kinks. 99% of shooters would never even have noticed what Jon did. THe other report on another site of a chunk of paint or something being on the lens can and does happen all the time. So people are just making a huge deal out of nothing.
But still Vortex says okay, lets take a step back and double check everything. What more could a person want out of a company. Good on Vortex IMO. |

You guys are great!! This forum has some of the most informing and
intelligent people on any of the optics discussion forums. It is so
nice to come here and read in-depth and knowledgeable reviews/opinions. I am not saying that
there are not other great forums out there ,but this one seems to have
the highest ratio of kind, smart individuals . I am not just saying this because of this thread ,but rather all of the threads in a whole. I would try to name a few of the people who I think really make this forum that way ,but I could never think of everyone and I certainly wouldn't want to leave anyone out. So keep it up, I hope it never changes and know that we will always do our absolute best to treat everyone the way we like to be treated.

I am with cyborg on this one.
It is nice to have scope makers stop by the forum. It is a definite win-win for both your company and your customers. ILya
