What are your thoughts on this scope, is it worth owning?

For the money, I think it is a very good buy.  I don't own one but did get the opportunity to handle one locally.  I was pretty impressed and liked the glass better than my old Nikon Monarch.  Not as good as my Conquest, but difference isn't significant.

Nice thing is the sale also includes their 2.5-10X and 4-16X scopes with the plex reticle.

Oops.  Looks like the 4-16X are sold out already.

I had one for a while a couple years ago. I thought it was a very good scope. I had it on a .223 wssm and if fit it nicely. Great for a longer range varmint gun or target gun. IMO it would not be a good big game scope as the low mag is to high. Glass was good, adjustments were true. Overall a decent scope IMO

I have the 4-16x44 model and I think its almost as good as my vx3 lr 4.5-14x40. It bothers me that its discontinued. Maybe its not selling.

Thanks for the input guy! I mounted mine on an AR15 build to test out this weekend but it’ll probably find a home on my CZ 6.5x55 rifle for long distance hunting. My first impressions are very positive but the proof’s in the shooting. This makes Vortex Viper #5 for me, one of which is an older but identical, non HS 6.5x24 which I dearly love. It reside atop a bull barel Remington 700 (308) for benchrest paper plinking.
