Im thinking this is too good to be true (Vortex Viper HS LR 4-16x44 for $192).  I really want one of these scopes and came upon this, but it looks fishy. What do you guys think? scope is normaly $550

I think you should read the rules and not post links to other optics vendors on this site.

Please refrain and thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation.

3.  Do not advertise other retailers selling the same or similar products as SWFA, this includes posting links to other retailers for products sold by SWFA.  SWFA does not provide this forum as a vehicle to redirect customers to our competition.

Well that's all fine and dandy, except for I just checked with SWFA and they are out of stock and do not know when they will get anymore of these scopes.  Therefore, I looked elsewhere.  That's the nature of the business. If you can't keep up people will shop around.  I was merely asking others if they think this was a scam, not telling them "hey these guys have a way better deal than SWFA".

However, if people representing SWFA are going to act like you then I will be damn sure to spend the $1000-$3000 a year I spend on optics somewhere else. Customer service goes a long ways.

As you say - customer service does go a long way - these guys @ SWFA have always done right by me.

Me too. Until this guy got all butt hurt about me posting a link to a scope that they do not even currently have for sale.

Sir, I don't have time nor the inclination to argue with you. You could have asked the question, sans posting the link. Right? Right.

Thanks and if your unhappy about my mod skills, or the lack there of, just follow the rules that you AGREED to follow and we will be fine.

Griz, this site is "Hosted" by SWFA.  The moderators are not CS reps.  But it is in "Troll" form to post a competitors website on a website PAID for by another.  I do not work for SWFA nor does CT.  And your I'll take my money elsewhere threat falls on deaf ears!  You were to read the rules when you signed on, if you can't follow or do not like them pay for your own bandwidth.

Didn't realize this was one of those Internet police forums. Thought it was pretty laid back not so strict like most outdoors sites. And turn deaf ears to money comments all you want. Money talks and I can get the same products and no Internet rentacops elsewhere so yeah I am not afraid to take my money elsewhere if I see fit. From a customers viewpoint, it doesn't look good for someone representing a company to get upset about a post asking if a product ( that said company does not even offer) is legit. I hope this mod is not an employee of swfa but either way he represents them in one way or another.

No Sir, I'm not an SWFA employee and due to my aggression management issues, I'm currently unemployed at present. Wink

Please ask your questions without posting links to other vendors sites. Thank you and I'm popping smoke on this thread.

Will not post any more links. Thought it would
Be ok since it's not offered by SWFA and I was asking people if they think it might be a scam. My bad

I bet if you call the reseller they are out of stock also, and will not issue a rain check. This is not a Vortex issue. Your title is misleading and slanderous to Vortex.  They have no control over the retailers or there advertising. Before coming here to slander Vortex why didn't you call the retailer and do your own research. Then you could have made a positive contribution to the forum.

No worries. It happens.

I should have been more cordial and I was rather rude. My apologies and good shooting.

Bro, I think the Gent was asking if the other vendor was trying to scam, not Vortex.

Whoa buddy! Someone needs to calm down and reread my post. I was in no way slandering vortex. I think they are a great company and I have many of their products. I was asking if people thought this particular deal from this website was a scam (i.e. a counterfeit scope or you pay and don't get the scope). Not sure where you got that I was slandering vortex, saying it was their issue, or saying vortex has anything to do with this deal? "Vortex scam?" as a title refers to me asking if you guys think the website that was linked may be scamming people by selling fake vortex scopes for very cheap or just not delivering the products etc.

I realize that. But the Title can mislead the search engines. Better wording may have helped his cause. Too much drama for me this late in the day.

Sorry but that's not how I read it at all.  After all it is a possible scam involving vortex products (probably fakes).  Had I said "vortex is scamming us" or "vortex is a scam" Etc, then I could see your point. And if someone did think that, they could easily read the post where it is plain as day that I am not upset with vortex.
