OK, since I can't get my hands on any Vortex glass within 3 hours of my location, can someone point out the differences in construction and image quality between the Razor HD and Talon HD binos?  In simply reading the descriptions and specs they seem darned near the same.  I'm assuming since there is a $700 price difference or so though that there is something significantly different that isn't described.

I have a Razor HD 8x42.  I have seen the Talon several times and what applies to the ZEN ED 2 applies to it, for they are pretty obviously the same glass.  The Talon is s bit different from the ZEN in that it has a thicker armor and is, as a result, a little larger in barrel diameter.  The Razor HD is a much slimmer binocular and it is FRACTIONALLY better optically than the ZEN ED 2 or others if the upper mid price like the Kruger Caldera.  I am not quite sure that the Razor is in fact $700 better, matter of fact I would say it is not, but it IS a LITTLE better.  The big thing is the ergonomics in that the Razor HD is a nicer to handle binocular and actually feels smaller than it is, while the Talon feels a little larger than it is.  I own the ZEN ED 2 glass, so the Talon is not on my list.  I may well sell the Razor HD, but have not yet decided.

I compared the two with Talon in one hand, and ED2 in the other. I truely believe the Talon is better constructed and has a brighter picture than the Zen.  The price difference between Talon and Razor is a higher quality of glass and other components.
