You guys have advised me to buy the Vortex Viper, for that I thank you all. I've been reading reviews and every one likes them.
My question; The three Viper 2-7x32's, listed on SWFA's site here http://swfa.com/Vortex-Viper-Rifle-Scopes-C1410.aspx are all at the same price, yet the first one is 50% off, while the other 2 are listed at 35% off. Vortex's site lists them at the same MSRP. Why? Typo, mistake, or something I'm not seeing? |

MSRP may not reflect the actual price they were going for before the closeout.
http://swfa.com/Vortex-2-7x32-Viper-Rifle-Scope-P11226.aspx would have been 339.90 still below MSRP http://swfa.com/Vortex-2-7x32-Viper-Rifle-Scope-P11227.aspx & http://swfa.com/Vortex-2-7x32-Viper-Rifle-Scope-P10818.aspx would have been 261.46 still below MSRP Supply, demand, vendor cost and such set the market price for scopes. I would say with the BDC craze it fetched a premium price at the time. |

Also be aware that none of them are actually adjustable objective.

Thanks for the explanation 308Sav. Neibilly, thanks for your post also. I always wondered what those numbers around the objective end of the scope were for. I know now because I had to search the term "adjustable objective". Do I really need it for my shooting? Would you care to recommend a decent scope under $250? |

The Viper with BDC is a very good scope. For the money it would be hard to beat it. In the under 250 ballpark I would look at these. http://swfa.com/Vortex-2-7x32-Viper-Rifle-Scope-P11226.aspx I have 2 of them and they are a nice scope. http://swfa.com/Nikon-3-9x40-Monarch-UCC-Riflescope-P45664.aspx Very good deal right now. Either one comes in under your budget and would be good choices. Keep us posted. |
