Anyone own a Vortex HS 2,5-10x44 or 4-16x50 and can tell me a little bit about the quality? I would like to hear about low light. It comes with V-plex that may not be the best for low light?

Both are excellent scopes. I own a 2.5-10x44 PST that has the same glass. For the money, you cannot go wrong. I have a Diamondback 3-9 on my .270 and I use it in the woods here in North Carolina all the time. Plex reticle stands out fine in low light. I'm not an optics guru, but I am pretty obsessed with everything being perfect. My PST just seems like the perfect scope. Only complaint with my Diamondback is I like constant eye relief and it is variable. Either way, I seem to use it more than any other.

the viper line is a hell of a scope.

i would guess that the lower mag 2.5-10x44 would be brighter than the higher magnification with a 50mm.

the bigger 50 would be the better if they were set to the same mag setting.

 both set to 10x the 50 would be a shade brighter--the 50mm on 4x and the 44 on 2.5x?

i'll bet the 44 will be the brighter. --haven't compared the two directly -just my suspicions.

vortex is my favorite brand name of scopes overall and it is very hard to go "wrong" with any viper.
