Hi guys new to forum so hi to all.

Ok im after a new pair of bins for plane spotting and quite like the look of the Diamondbacks 9x36 or Crossfires 8x42 or 10x42.

Only have around £140 ish to spend.

So any advice or comments would be great
Thanks
Danny

Danny,

A Porro prism binocular would give you more binocular for your money. (Pentax PCF WPII or Nikon Action Extreme)
I prefer higher magnifications for airplane spotting.
Lower magnifications do not show much detail, especially when aircraft are off in the distance.
15x or 16x gives good views of distant airplanes, but, 12x would be a nice compromise.

I like the idea of a 12x with a monopod for plane spotting.  16x usually has a pretty darn narrow field of view.

The Nikon Stan mentioned would be a great choice.

While I am following an aircraft in flight, I am also panning with my binoculars hand held, no need to mount it, especially from a comfortable sitting position.

It's even worse when I'm using my 20x binoculars.Bandito
My Pentax 20x60 PCF WP II is 2.2 degrees or less, and my Pentax 16x60 PCF WP is 2.8 or less. Wink

Thanks guys for the response.

I have a telescope which is great for distance stuff 20x the bins are/will be used for stuff close by, kind of want a nice small pair were you can just put round your neck and not bring any attention to yourself if you know what i mean.
