I'm needing a new scope and trying to decide  what to do.  I have a Elite 3200 in 3-9x40 that I'm happy with but  the eye relief seems a little short on it  to me though. I was also looking at the Vortex Crossfire and the Diamondback and the Burris FFII, all in 3-9x40 or maybe even a 42 or 44. The vortex is appealing (especially with the warranty)  but I don't know anything about them and I'm a little hesitant to try them because of that.  I tried one of the Intensity optics and it was absolutely terrible and  left some doubt in scopes that I don't know anything about. I also don't know how the two ( Crossfire and Diamondback) compare to the Elite 3200 and the Burris FFII scopes as far as clarity and quality. Any advice that you can give will be appreciated in deciding which scope to get.

The Vortex Viper 2-7x32 is on sale for only $179.99.

Alot of others and I have been snatching these up.
Viper is the next step, and has better optic coatings than the entry level Crossfire/Diamondback models.
Even if you don't buy a Viper model, go with the mid-range Diamondback.

A excellent review/comparison of the Diamondback and other similar scopes, here, http://www.opticstalk.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=21176

the diamondback is very comparable (optically) to the 3200 elite. i messed with one for two weeks and it was better imo than the nikon buckmaster.
vortex beats the pants off of intensity's junk.
