Now here is an interesting option.  I don't need this kind of magnification on my hunting rifles but could be interesting on my varmint rifle or match rimfire.

I've seen some varying reviews on Vortex's HS line.  Some comments have said the 2.5-10X version isn't the best but other reviews puts the glass in the Monarch/Zeiss Conquest category.

Any thoughts on this one?  It is definitely a sweet deal.

Had a chance to look at one and not too bad.  Not used to that high of a top end but I was impressed with the clarity of the glass.  I was indoors in the store, so not ideal, but this is a great deal for someone looking for a target/varmint scope.

I have the HS 4-16x44 that I just bought for my 243 Varmint Howa. I Compared it to my Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40. Its just a good as the Leupold. I love the scope and think it boxes way above its weight! What I love about the scope is the accuracy of the side focus. When the side focus is set at 100 (obviously shooting at 100) the target is crisp and clear and there is no parallax error present. Same at 200yds.

At $399 I cannot think of a better value for money scope than this Viper.
