Just wondering if anyone had any input on them?  U.S. made?  Worth a darn?  Would just like the good the bad or ugly on them if anyone has any input.

Vixen optics is a division of Mister Star Guy! I felt no need to read any further.

Yeah I was a little sketched out by that too.Loco

Although I've found on some other sites where they have been compared with some of the more prestigious brands.

I only ask because I found a (decent by the MSRP) price on one used local to me.  About half of what it would cost new.

I can compare a TP tube to a S&B but that does not put them in the same league. The TP roll is so clear you can't tell you are looking through anything. The TP roll has absolutely no loss of light transmission from lenses.  Big Grin BLA BLA BLA.

Vixen is a Japanese company. They've been around a while. I remember seeing their name on binoculars years ago. I've never seen a Vixen rifle scope.

If a Japanese company that has been in the optics business for decades wants to make a rifle scope, my guess is that they have the contacts and resources to make a pretty good scope if they want to. On paper, it looks like they were shooting for a pretty good scope.

Vixen may have had it´s origin in Japan (where their HQ still is situated) I´ve seen remarks and reviews regarding Vixen binos as made in China, I doubt that Vixen riflescopes are made in Japan, I bet they are made in China (Bosma optics is a rumour I´ve heard sometime)

Vixen - The best kept japanese optic secret ( the secret is that they are made in China)

Have I read that about Vixen, or was that another so called japanese company ????
If so, I´ll blame my age Loco

Like I said, I've never seen a Vixen rifle scope, but I just spent 3 minutes on Google and found 2 sources saying they were made in Japan.

Shenko,

If you write "Vixen optics (or riflescopes, or binoculars) made in China" you can find a sh*tload of sources sayin they´re made in China.

That´s the problem with optics nowadays - You´ll never know.........

I own three Vixen 4-16x44, and they are solid, well built, and clear scopes.
Mine are made in Japan. For the money, they are absolutely great!

Plus, if you look hard enough, you can find this model for around $200.

No personal experience here, but they have been around for quite awhile in the celestial optics market. MrStarGuy is big on astronomy and the sport optics came out later. No big deal. There is a lot of info out there if you google and some is quite good.................carry on.
