Will the Viper 2-7x32 be able to take the recoil from a 338 Mag? I will mount it on my Browning Safari this season.

I'm guessing the scope can take it but the Vipers are a tad shorter on eye relief than some others. I'd be more worried about that.

I wouldn't be paranoid if everyone wasn't out to get me.

I'm using the scope in question on a 35 whelen, no problems. I believe we have a member here using one on a 375 H&H. Either way Vortex has excellent C/S and a great warranty, though I doubt you'll need it.

Sounds great...I was wondering how it measures up to other comparable scopes in the same price range/optics. Might also purchase for a future 6.8 build used from 100-300 yards etc.

At $150.00, I can't think of another scope in the same configuration that will match it.

That little Viper is a very good scope. I have it on Momma's Ruger Compact in .308. BTW, welcome to

Thank you,
I currently have a Sightron Big Sky 4x16 on my 338...however maybe I will keep that on and use this on my 6.8 or switch, I'm not sure yet for the ranges I expect both would be more than adequate I think. |
