Well I am still waiting for my Steiner Firebird 2's 10X30 and have had loads of time to try and find info on them with no luck. But have found that the Steiners are not as high quality as I thought. Not knowing nothing about optics I always, for some reason, considered Steiners to be the best. Going to different sites and reading reviews of different models they do not seem to stack up to Pentax, which I thought would have been way under a Steiner model.

Although I have not received them yet, I'm already considering selling them and getting something else. Guess we will see what happens.

The Steiner Firebird series are great for using over water or when it is bright.  The coatings are similar to high dollar Oakley sun glasses.  If you plan to use them for hunting you should get something else as you already kinda plan to do.  The Steiner Night Hunter XP line is their best for hunting.

Oh well thats actually encouraging since I wanted them for fishing. Maybe they will be fine after all was just concerned about the optics and if they were those tiny kind I already own (similar to these. http://www.binoculars.com/products/Tasco_8x21_Porro_Compact_ wRubicon_15083.html.

Thanks Chris
