I'm looking for a set of Optics for Night hunting.  I need them for hunting Hogs at night in and under trees.  I'm looking a quality glass that well made too.  I don't need much power 4x or 6x max, due to most of my glass ing is 40-50 yards. But they need to be able to grab as much light as possible. Many times the only ambient light I have is a no moon star light or a small waxing or waning moon.  I have been using my Swaro 10x42 EL, but there typically to powerful for this type of need, but they do gather some light, I'm looking for even more.  Is there even a 4x42 or 6x50 thats a quality glass made...?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Big Smile

The closest thing would be a 7x50.

There's some 7x50 Action demos in the sample list.

The 7X50 is the classic night binocular configuration.

Since the human pupil dialates to a maximum of about 7mm (on average), not many manufacturers make a binocular with a larger than 7mm exit pupil.

IMHO good night glasses are the high quality 7x42, 7x50, 8x50 and 8x56 formats.
The Zeiss 8x56 Victory's are some of the best but are very heavy and very, very expensive.
The Docter 8x50 are heavy but great glass at a somewhat reasonable price.
The Leica and Zeiss 7x42 are very pricey but are fairly lightweight and easy to handle, optically superb, I love mine.
Swaro 7x42 SLC's are heavy but very good optically, pricey and heavy.
The Meopta 7x42's are almost up to the Leica and Zeiss optically but are much cheaper and weigh more.
I would try the 7x42 Meopta's first to see if they meet your needs and pocket book..Koshkin likes his and I think they have the best performance price ratio.
Good luck.
