I am tryin to find a decient quality varmint scope. I recently purchased a Ruger M77 Mark II Target in .220 swift. I would like a scope with superhigh magnification (24-32). I am in High School so I don't have much of a budget. I have about $130 to spend on a scope. I have found tons of scopes that are in my price range but I can't find alot of info on the quality of them. I am interested in BSA but from what i have read the are pieces of junk. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Go to the sample list and don't worry about super high magnification.

Why the high magnification? With your price range and high mag need your limited to BSA. Go down in power a little and you can get a much better product. The number one mistake people make is over scoping.

They're better than BSA. Look into the Simmons 6.5-20x50 Whitetail Classic.

What about a simmons .44Mag in the same magnification.  They run around $160 through (competitor) and I think they have last year's models for even less and three choices of reticle design and target turrets.

I think www.swfa.com has 6.5-20x Whitetail Classics for $100, they are almost the same scope as the .44 Mag series. I have both and both work fine for me.

WTC 4.5-14x on a .223 sporter
44 Mag 6.5-20x on a 10/22 target rifle
2-8x WTC on an H&R Handi Rifle .223

Ok. I have the choice down to two scopes: the Bushnell Banner Dusk To Dawn in 6-18, or the Simmons Varmint 6.5-20. They are both with in my price range and my grandfather (who has been shooting since the early 60s) says they are both pretty good. Which one is the better scope? I would like as many people to reply so I can go with majority vote. Thank you

I have a bushnell banner 6-18-50 on my remington 243. It is not as good as an elite or anything but i am very satisfied with it.  I have owned it about a year and have put about 300 rounds through it and it hasnt lost its zero.  For the price you cant beat it.
