When the hell are these things going to be made? Seriously I want a 3-10X 40mm obj and a 6-20X 50mm. Who else?

Get in line, brother; that song has been playing for years.

Better to do it right than fast.

Don't bother waiting, you'll lose a lot of shooting/hunting time if you do.

http://www.opticstalk.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=365

Get something else and enjoy life, I laugh a bit when I think back and realize I actually waited a few months.

*That was 2 years ago and still 'nothin Loco

Getting it right the 1st time is great but I won't be a buyer.

More than a little, less than too much, I hope!

Over the years, I cannot tell you how many times I have purchased something that should not yet have been for sale, it is the way business runs.  Fortunately, SWFA doesn't work that way.  i would MUCH prefer they take the time to do it right rather than get it out and make fixes along the way.

I applaud their diligence and dedication to making it right the first time, that is what made the fixed Super Sniper such a great scope and great deal.

However, if you want to shoot now, I recommend you not wait to pull the trigger till the variable is done.  Get a fixed 10 for now, they hold their value for resale, and you will be well acquainted with the adjustments when the variable comes out.

When the variable comes out, I will buy!

Been lurking around here for years.  Is there any actual confirmation these are actually in some stage of development?  I have been following this for years.  I have never once seen any picture or anything else beside talk of these.  I think it is an idea that has long since been put on a far far away back burner.  Now that said I would probably be first in line to order one.Big Smile

There was confirmation..... There is always the possibility that things may have changed though.

The ones I've looked through are pretty nice.

No......I'm not going to elaborate other than to say listen to RC's advice about getting it right.

I am with the "do it right the first time" crowd.

There are a lot of scopes on the market and the competition is not napping.  When Variable Super Snipers make it here, they better be good.

The way the economy is going I wouldn't bet on it.

I sometimes wonder who is designing it and if they know what they are doing. Otherwise it would have been by now. I admit I don't know anything about manufacturing scopes but most of the other scope makers come out with new models every year. Maybe  they have units in the Middle East getting tested. But I doubt that too.

I've seen photos of the prototype but it takes a lot of effort and expense to bring something like this to market if you want it to be right. I would guess that it will be out before fall but likely the Army will buy all that are made so it may well be a year before you will see one on the civilain market (educated guess).   Anytime you get to the point where you cant wait any longer there is a whole shelf full of Leupold Mk4 Tacticals there just waiting to be purchased so you either pony up the extra $ or you wait, nothing personal about it.

I am willing to wait.  But when one does arrive, you can bet I am going to want one.  If it is as good as the current Super Snipers, I will be a great scope to have.

Hell, I would just settle for a nice 4X or 6x fixed power SS.   And, that would only take some change to the lens geometry not a redesign. ;)

Just saying...

a 3-12x50 illuminated reticle FFP, 1/2" turrets in multiple reticle options... would be the ticket, oh yeah, and for $500 bucks
