I have the opportunity to buy a 3x9 3200 for $100.00. I have no experience w/high end Bushy's, have always been a Leupold,Burris,Nikon man. Should I bite, and what can I expect in terms of quality?

I assume , just because, that it is a 40mm objective? Retails in the $300 range. About a 3.5" eye relief and is overall a pretty good scope. However, you will not have any warranty, so CHECK IT OUT THOROUGHLY prior to purchasing. It is a pretty rugged scope. The people I know who have them, swear by them.
However, at SWFA you can get a NEW one for $75.00 more... something to think about.

thanks kickboxer, i would have to buy it sight-unseen and don't need a scope for anything right now. Just thought if it was a good deal I would get it and just sit on it until I needed it. Guess I should pass?

Publius, I would never purchase a used scope "sight unseen" from anyone but a reputable dealer with an ironclad return policy, never from a private party (except perhaps my best friend... he did burn me on a vehicle one time though, but that is a long story).  As I said, you can get a new one with the full Bushnell warranty for only $75.00 more.  While the $100 3200 may turn out to be a deal, it would not be worth the risk to me.  Too many unknowns.  What if it is no good?  What do you do then?

The 3200 Bushnell has only been around for seven or eight years....how beat up can it be??  Has it been abused?  I had one on a Remington 725 and I liked it--it was a very nice, inexpensive scope with Rainguard!!  Worked fine!!  I thought it was very nice---The 4200s must be fantastic if they are better than the 3200!

I have bought 30 year old scopes before for $100...........naturally, no warranty!  Just don't drop it over a cliff!!
