I've seen a few pictures online of people using 4 rings on a one piece base for their scope. I would imagine it would have quite a bit more holding power, but can anyone think of disadvantages to this?

A little more weight and the added cost of another pair of rings.
Also, less latitude for moving the scope fore and aft to get eye relief perfect.
If those aren't issues, I can't think of any other disadvantages.

2 sets of cheaper flimsy rings probably will not hold as well as a good set will hold to begin with. But it will look Taticooool. Cool
