Hi, new member here. Great forum! For my first post I'd like to ask the membership if anyone might have a turret cap to fit a Nikel Supra scope that they would be willing to sell. Failing that, could anyone tell me where I might could find one other than the Gerhardt company in Germany? They don't want to send one. Thanks.

The following is from their website.
(Nickel is only selling riflescopes direct to hunters and target shooters. Nickel riflescopes are not available from shops.)

Looks like a Mfg. direct only. Good Luck

Now the rules have changed again.

Thanks 3. Tried them. They want over $100 ( no typo) to send one if they have it. The cap itself doesn't cost too much according to them, it's the VAT and customs plus shipping. They told me they had rather not fool with it. For that price neither would I.

Hello jgh4445, and welcome to the O.T. ! I see you're from Al. , what part are you from? There are a couple of us here on the forum.
The guy that runs Gerhardt Nickel is a pec*er head. I have dealt with him a couple of times, and he always tries to make things hard. I personally think he has a "thing" against the U.S. . I once asked him about buying some of his optics (me doing all the legwork with customs, etc..) and he told me straight - up he was not interested in doing business in the U.S.
That being said, I can tell you I do business with a German Co. all the time, and there is no VAT tax when something is shipped to the U.S. . That is a tax between European countries only on optics.
Something as small as a turret cap  is expensive to ship - I would say by experience around $30 - you would think he would send them as a gesture of good customer service.
Try some caps off some other brand scopes and see if they work. If not, measure the threads and let me know the size. I am trying to help another fellow Alabamian with the same problem on a Pecar-Berlin scope. A picture would also help.

Thanks so much Derek! I'm in Andalusia. I'll try to get some pictures up of the one turret cap I have, but I'm not too sure on how to measure the threads. I can do some caliper measurements of the height, width, depth etc. of the cap itself though. Perhaps that, along with the pictures will help. Thanks again for the offer.

Yes, the measurements of the inside of the cap with a caliper would be sufficient enough for me.

Somtimes you can buy small collections of used scope caps being sold cheaply on Ebay.  No VAT on used caps.  Just measure the major diameter of the thread on the turret and you than find the minor diameter on the internet so that the I.D. of the cap can be measured and fit.

Geez, what a crock. I bought a M1 gas cylinder and a few other small parts from a guy in Italy and the postage wasn't more than $10. There were no customs hassles either.
