I am brand new here and ready to make what I consider an investment in a hunting scope for my 257 weatherby magnum. I am lookin at trijicon tr22 accupoint and having a hard time picking between milldot or the green triangle. I have had problems with moving targets before and was told the triangle is the way to go, but its so different than im used to . Can you guys help me out. Is it really better for moving targets ( triangle ) or not. Is the the best low light hunting scope for around the same money

The mil dot version does not work for Bindon Aiming Concept where the triangles do mainly because of the size of the illuminated area. The eye tends to naturally go to the lightest area Trijicon used to have a short video of how the system works.  I would suggest that which scope is correct for you depends on how you hunt.  If I was hunting in brush stalking I would want one of the post with illuminated triangle versions all of which are good the green appears the brightest however since forests are green some people prefer a contrasting color. Amber tends to wash out when looking toward a street light at night however that is more a concern of police tactical shooters than hunters. You can go out at night and look at a street light it has all three colors pick the one you like also bow sight fiber optic pins use all three colors so that will also give you a point of refrence for color choice.  If I were buying the 5-20x50 scope I would probably want the green mildot version so that the green would contrast against a black target. The amber is quite popular but red is also quit popular and I have  two red and one amber trijicon and have had another one in a red post in the 5-20 x 50 however I did not like the post version nearly as much as I like the mil dot version in that model however it was for tactical use.  Still I was very impressed with the 5-20 and like the fact that it has target knobs.

Just a "grasshopper" but it seems logical that the color choice, reticle choice, etc. depends upon the intended use. And there is also the most important factor, the individual and what works for him/her. Opinions are valuable, I ask for them myself, but in the end it is the user who actually makes it work or not.

Since I am a noob, can anyone tell me what "target" or "tactical" knobs really means? I know, probably a stupid question but I really don't care much for "assumptions." Like I said, a noob, not sure where to ask some questions. Have mercy please. Lol
