Nice looking scope!  If they are going to use a 24mm objective, it makes far more sense to have it based on a 30mm tube rather than having the small objective bell on the 1" main tube model, thereby restricting mounting length.

Trijicon obviously must have listened to their customers.Excellent

How does this new scope have a shorter eye relief than the previous version?

The new 1-4X24 version has considerably more FOV than the 1.25-4X24, and increased FOV often comes at the expense of eye relief.

That appears to be the case from the specs. They list a functional eye relief of 2.0 to 3.1 inches at 4x--which isn't much if the scope is to be mounted on any sort of harder-kicking rifle.

My own 1.25-4x Trijicon 1" scope has a functional eye relief of right around 4" at 4x.

Re-posting form a different thread:

A little less eye relief is exactly right.  These sights are most typically placed on AR-15 type weapons which do not recoil much.  Besides, the complaints about the T21 mostly centered on the following:
1) Eye relief varied by a large amount making consistent head position challenging
2) front objective bell limited mounting space
3) on AR-type weapons you had to use a mount with a very substantial extension over the handguard to accomodate the extra long eye relief of TR21 at low magnification (LaRue even made a special version of their SPR mount for TR21).
4) field of view was narrow

I think TR24 fixes all of those.

To add a little bit to that:  when I looked at the TR24 during SHOT the eye relief did not feel all that short and I would probably be quite comfortable putting it on an M1A or something along those lines.  I would not put it on something with real kick to it.

ILya

Not to dredge up an ancient thread but I thought I would ask those who are running the TR24 what their opinions are?

Thanks,
Rath
