For those of you with experience with this scope can you tell me what the glass compares best to. Is it comparable to the Viper /  Elite 4200, Conquest / Meopta, or is it Swarovski / Khales class??? The one I am looking at specifically is the TR20-1G which is the 3-9x40 w/crosshair and green dot.

Thanx..

It is very similar to Elite 4200 glass or Conquest glass it is pretty good glass but I think the glass in the 2.5-10 version looks better to me than the 3-9 version I notice a big difference in the two scopes and like the 2.5-10x56 much better than the 3-9 you wouldnt think there would be that much difference but there is to me and the .5 wider low end and brighter in low light 10x at 56 mm or 5.6mm exit eye pupil is quite noticable.

Probably best compares to Conquest, but the illuminated reticle really alters the comparison.

It is a great scope, I have one.

Thanx for the replies.. The scope will go on a Wby. Vanguard in 30-06 which is why I am asking specifically about the 3-9x40. It's a co-workers first bolt action hunting rifle. While I certainly understand the advantages of the 56mm objective thats probably a bit big and heavy for a gun that will be used primarily for deer and elk here in Colorado.

I have that scope, it's a very, very nice scope
I have done back to back comparisons against my Kahles CL 3-10x50 in low to no light
both will cleanly take deer past legal hunting times on dark moonless night..

I don't think the 2.5-10x56 offers enough increased brightness to justify the weight and size frankly

I too have one of these scopes and agree with the opinions expressed.  It's a very fine, very useful scope!
