I just came across this.  Is anyone here familiar iwth it?

Looks like no batteries required.  $475 is a bit much for me to buy it without seeing it first.

When will these be in available?  SWFA has them listed, but Trijicon says 8-10 weeks.

As for dot size, I guess it all depends upon the application.  I want to mount it on an ACOG (replacing a J-Point) so the only time I'd use it I really would be close.  I'm actually contemplating if the 13 MOA version wouldn't be better for that.  I have an RX-30, which I like very much, but in total darkness the tritium illumination isn't as bright as the battery powered units.  Has anybody compared the two?  Close range, especially in the dark with a weaponslight, I think the bigger dots may be a good thing.

For me I guess I would rather have a battery (after all they last a long time these days) in my sight, and know I am going to see at night.  I also wouldn't want a dot that big.  Just me but with my AR (which is what I would put it on) I want the versatility of both close and longer engagement.

Here is the deal 9moa would be a 9 inch circle at 100 which would be 18 inches at 200 that's way too much for precision, but closer it could be a good thing because at 50 yds you now have a 4.5 inch circle and at 25 yds you have a 2.25 inch dot so this is obviously designed to engage targets in that 1 to 100 yd range. This makes a lot of sense if you are mounting it piggyback on a higher magnification optic like a 3.5-10x40 or would definately be a help on scopes higher power than that like a 6.5-20x50 because it gives you a way to sight rapidly on close threats with a sniper system type rifle that might otherwise be just point and shoot.  Optics at 6x can be brought on target at 75 yds and out fairly rapidly but with a 10x the field of view is so narrow that you have difficulty getting on target at 75yds.  These types of scopes are a good thing if you can find the right mount to run it piggyback.
