The chevron reticle or solid triangle reticle (circle dot too) might be better for close to medium distances. I have the one your looking at, it's nice, but not as fast as the ones I listed.

The red full line illumination does not do bindon aiming concept.  I like the chevron and triangle with the fiber optic and tritium illumination. I like the yellow but find it washes out when pointed toward a light source like a streetlight at night. I have not had a chance to look at the green first hand but the info looks good if the background is not all green and if the background is  green then red or amber would be lots better.

Bassmaster, I like your reticle. My ACOG has the same reticle. I find it to be simple and fast. It may not be as fast as the chevron at close range, but it's easier to figure out at medium and long ranges. That's JMHO.

i'm in the same boat almost, new EBR on the way but 7.62 so my BDC choices are a bit slimmer.

i'm looking at the red chevron based ACOGs (b/c of BAC) and the top of chevron being a 100yd zero, the bottom of chevron being 300....

interesting to hear about the green (and maybe amber) being subjectively preferable.

this is the one i'm thinking of:

it's a 3.5x   i was wishing they made a 4x with .308 reticle for the 'red dot on top'  but guess not... wondering if the BAC will work for me... seems hit miss with some folks.  it's an 18" 7.62 so i'd be selling it short putting a red-dot on it (i want to use it on my 400yd appleseed course this summer)

Think this one through - yea its a .223 reticle but you have the green chevron and the 4x  you zero the hash mark with 4 at 400 yds then determine where the upper tip of the chevron is zeroed likely about 200 and where the lower tip of the chevron is zeroed say 250 and the tip of the line below say 300  check it to see how the 6 mark compares with 600 and call it good.  After all its not like the reticle has hash marks for each hundred yards.  The green appears brighter than the other colors to the eye according to K.  If you run balistic charts for .223 and .308 there will be some difference butnot that much.  I use an amber 1.5x zeroed point on at 300yds hold bottom of the NRA target like pumpkin on a post at 200 for center hits.  Dont think this into being something that is more complicated than it has to be it doesent matter that its a .223 reticle you can still use it on a .308 you just need to know what the lines represent on your gun with your ammo.
