I have this scope with the mildot/amber dot reticle. I'm very happy with it so far for my purposes. If you don't hunt or shoot at night, I'm not sure what advantage it would offer you. I don't shoot long range, so I don't know exactly to what distance it will work for you, but I don't see the point in limiting your range of adjustment if you have no practical need for the tritium illum. You said you wanted a scope you could grow into and reach out further, which this one may not allow you to do if you become interested in a chamberings that will extend your practical shooting range.
Another issue you may want to consider--the reticle is mildot and the adjustment are MOA. Some people dislike this combination and prefer moa/moa or mil/mil, which may simplify your life.
The Accupoint may offer a strength you don't need (the tritium illum), and present a weakness that may hamper you (limited adjustment range). If there's not another reason the illum appeals to you, you may want to consider a diffent scope.
