Does any one have a Transit tripod with the 3 1/2" thread head that they would like to part with. One is needed for a K&E Transit. Less expensive the better. Doing volunteer work on rebuilding the public free range.

I'll have to look around Lile. I have a new tripod for my transit, but don't remember what happened to the old one. I'll look around and let you know. If enough snow thawed to get to the storage shed, I'll look tomorrow.

I have a K & E transit that needs the screw on 3 1/2 " Most instruments after 1965 use  the flat top tripod with a 7/8 screw down. Some very old Berger stuff had a 1 1/2 thread. These are real antiques from late 1800s. My surveying ended in 1986. We are volunteering service to regrade for drainage and add another berm. There was a lot of damage after the spring floods this year. The place was underwater for 3 months.

There are several on Ebay but so far they are way off and shipping is $45-$50. for a $10-$15 tripod. Go figure. Loco 2 were in Missula Montana. I wonder if Helo would pick them up and do air delivery. Never mind a Helicopter won't fly that far without a rebuild.

I must have given ours away. We had an old one for our transit, that should have been perfect. I can't seem to find it. Must have given it to my cousin for his company. Sorry Lile.
