Hey everyone, Happy New Year!
I got my fiancee a Marlin XSY7 7mm08 this year and they threw in a cheapo scope and some rings.  They are the Traditions A793 1" High rings.  I just ordered a Vortex Diamondback 4-12 for her and want to make sure these rings are decent.  Any opinions?  If they're junk, what rings are good?  Thanks all!

No it is a Marlin XS7Y.  It's a newer youth model rifle.  So those rings aren't any good?

Good rifle, good scope. The Traditions are very inexpensive aluminum rings. It would be worth it to step up to Burris Zee rings (medium) or Weaver Sure Grip Detachable rings (might need high.)
Leupold PRW, Burris Zee Signature, or TPS rings would also be good.

Not an authority on the Marlin (or anything else) but why would those Tally's not work since they are not one piece?  The marlin web  site states that they should work for the XL7 or XS7 and I would think that the youth model XS7Y would be the same as the regular XS7.
Models XL7, XS7
Manufacturer Finish/Style Front Base Rear Base One Piece

B-Square       15510 (XL7)
