I just picked up the older 1x4 vortex strikefire. Would have grabbed the SWFA 1x4 but the vortex was a bit cheaper. Hands down the SWFA is clearer. Didn't need all the extensions SWFA offered either. The vortex will do the job I need it for on my short barrel 308 but wished I had the bucks for the SWFA.

I recent compared mine side by side with the new Vortex Crossfire 1-6. The SWFA 1-4 is miles ahead, the glass and the reticle are much better. The Vortex (and I am a big fan of Vortex) had a yellow/orange tint to the glass and the reticle was too fat for any kind of precision.

it is a sweet scope for the money. Bought one when they 1st came out at the reduced price. Kick myself for selling it, but made 50 bucks on the deal. Enjoy.

I got my 1-4×24 yesterday. . I am very impressed!! I mounted it on my 6.5 Creedmoor carbine and it is just perfect.
Thanks Skyler for the advice. !! I'm going to have to get another one for my wife and put it on her Ruger M77 Mk2 SS Compact 308. . I had her look thru it on my rifle and she Really wants one.
I sighted it in with the top of the diamond being on at 100 yards. I'll have to do some more shooting to figure my drops at 200,300+400. . Since most of my shooting is at 100 yards or less and the 10×42 just wasn't cutting it on a general purpose carbine, M77 Mk2 SS Hawkeye that I chopped the barrel to 18.6". Now with this scope and the factory synthetic stock on. The rifle is nice and lively
Even on 1x I managed about a 2.5" 3 shot group @100. With it and on 4 x I was chewing out the center of the bull.
So while my bragging groups are much smaller with the 10x42 Ss MD Classic. The usefulness of this rifle is greatly enhanced with this scope. I was concerned about the variable eye relief but using the scope it is not a problem at all. Tho it may be a little short for my 458, I'll try it and see. It will work.on my 9.3×64 Brenneke quite well .
You are being watched.

I am glad you've got this sorted out.  I have tested two of these rather extensively and they have been damn near perfect in terms of reticle alignment.

If you stack feeler gauges between the flat spot on the bottom of the scope, and the top of mount, or the rail it turns out a lot closer than leveling the top of the turrets. Of course verify with a plumb line.
If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

Boy do I feel foolish! I just started everything all over from square one, and I got it to all line up great. Still a little bit of can't, but to the point where I can live with it.

I was using a new mount this time around, and while everything appeared level, there was a flaw in the seating that was exaggerating the cant. Switched back to one of my old ones and it mitigated the problem. Excited to hit the range and see this scope in action!

I leveled out my gun, locked it down, checked that the mount itself was square to the gun, and plumb-lined the optic. After that, I didn't even have to put a level on the turrets because I could visually see that something was pretty off.

Good to hear that no one else has been complaining - maybe I just have had bad luck...

I have ONE scope which is pretty close to level between the turrets and the reticle and it's a SS 3-9x.

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

Hey all,

new to the forums here, and just had a question about this scope. I'm currently on number 3 - meaning that I've had to return two of them already. Every one of my scopes - and my current one is no different - has had significant reticle cant (not level with the turrets) by several degrees, and it's driving me nuts! My current model's cant has been the least extreme so far, but it still throws the bubble in my level all the way to the left...is that normal? I absolutely love the reticle design on this scope (which is why I keep hoping my next one will be "good to go"), but with all the back and forth shipping I've paid, I could've bought a vortex, which was my second choice. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks!

I ordered a 1-6xHD on black friday. Shipping wasnt terribly fast but the scope is badass!

I ordered a couple 5-20 illums on taxday. Wont see em for months. Suxxxx. I have no doubt they will be everything i hoped for.

I will order a 3-15x and also this 1-4x on black friday. That puts me at 8 SS optics, add my eotech to the mix and i do believe my optics buyin days are well behind me.

I'm guessing that there is no chance that these will be going on sale again any time soon?
The salt mount either?
