When riflescopes first came along, they were placed atop the rifle almost like
an afterthought. And as riflescopes' low-light capabilities and technology have
advanced, objective lenses have grown larger and larger, resulting in higher
and higher mounts and awkward cheek welds. The designs of both the rifle and
riflescope seemed to be set in stone -- until now. When you make the rules,
you can break the rules, so get ready for something from Leupold that breaks
them all.

MAXIMUM LIGHT. MINIMUM HEIGHT. In 2006, Leupold will integrate the
low-light capability of the modern riflescope with the design of the modern
rifle, in an ergonomic riflescope that's different from anything you've ever
seen. Introducing the revolutionary new Leupold VX-L. Leupold's optical en-
gineers created a radically different, proprietary, patents-pending design
that forms a small crescent in the lower radius of the objective lens, so the
VX-L can be mounted to hug the barrel, like part of the rifle itself. Leupold's
legendary low-light performance, ruggedness, and absolute waterproof inte-
grity remain 100 percent intact. No sacrifices, only the pioneering perfor-
mance you can expect from Leupold, America's Optics Authority®.

Mount your 50mm VX-L as low as a typical 36mm riflescope, and your 56mm
VX-L as low as a 40mm riflescope, while gaining a larger exit pupil and other
low-light advantages! But that's not all. The VX-L also features our second
generation of waterproofing technology, our exclusive DiamondCoat Index
Matched Lens System™ with new blackened lens edges, and more. If you've
been waiting for the low down on low-light performance, it's finally here.

Side Focus Parallax Adjustment Dial on select models gives
you the capability to easily and quickly focus.

Blackened lens edges are yet another way Leupold's optical
engineers ensure light is transmitted properly through the scope,
by reducing glare and providing the best possible contrast.

Lockable, extreme fast-focus eyepiece is threaded to allow
even faster focusing than ever before.

Dual Spring Titanium/Stainless Adjustment System gives you incredibly tight tolerances and
near perfect engagement of the interior surfaces, for the utmost precision, as well as outstanding
strength and durability.

Boone and Crockett™ Big Game reticle and Varmint Hunter's
reticle
are available in select models.

One-piece One-inch and 30mm main tubes are manufactured
from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum alloy to offer outstanding
lightweight strength and durability.

Light Optimization Profile™
gives you the low-light performance advantages of a large objective
riflescope, without the high mount. The 50mm VX-L mounts like a 36mm riflescope, yet delivers
48.6% more Total Light Throughput™ (TLT)! Likewise, the 56mm VX-L mounts like a 40mm
riflescope, and delivers 96% more Total Light Throughput.

Leupold's Second

GenerationWaterproofing While we
still waterproof other optics with bone dry
nitrogen -- first pioneered by Leupold in
1947 -- the VX-L features our new, ex-
clusive blend of Argon and Krypton gasses,
for greater thermal shock resistance

Index Matched Lens

system™ Leupold exclusive, this system
has nearly perfected Leupold's already impeccable light management.

Dual Spring Erector System is the last word in
ruggedness and durability, which is why we use it
in Leupold Mark 4 tactical riflescopes. The result is
generations of adjustment life and a riflescope
that's more capable than ever of withstanding
incredible abuse and pounding recoil.

DiamondCoat™ lens

coatings are currently protecting
the lenses of Leupold Mark 4® CQ/T® riflescopes in the dustiest, sandiest environments on earth: Iraq and Afghan-
istan. We've added this durable multicoat
to the objective lens and eye-piece lens
of the VX-L to give you the ultimate in
abrasion resistance and light transmission,
for a flawless sight picture over a lifetime
of hard use.

Tactile power indicator with range
estimating feature on the power selector
ring is super smooth, due to the addition
of special graphite composite O-rings.

Leupold Full Lifetime Guarantee -
the best consumer protection
available.

Legendary Leupold ruggedness is
guaranteed.

6.5-20x56mm Long Range Extreme
Varmint model is sure to impress in
a world where long shots are the gold
standard. This matte black VX-L fea-
tures red anodized spattering on the
exterior surfaces for a custom look that is all its own, and won't soon be forgotten.

"In 2006, everything you know about riflescopes will be eclipsed."

The all new Leupold VX-L combines the benefits of large objective lens with the benefits of your scope being mounted low.  Large objective lenses produce a larger exit pupil which means a brighter image with more forgiveness when it comes to eye placement.  Mounting your scope as close to the bore means that it will be more accurate at various yardages and more comfortable for your cheek placement on the stock.

The new Leupold VX-L scopes will be offered in 50mm and 56mm.  The 50mm scopes will mount in low rings and the 56mm scopes will mount in medium height rings.

Get in line now by placing your order with SWFA.  We will be one of the first to get the new Leupold VX-L riflescopes.
